Pip & Vix Subscription Art Boxes
I had the pleasure of meeting Pip & Vix at the Baby and Family Fair this past weekend in Vancouver, and their subscription art boxes caught my eye. It is a BC company founded by two Moms with a passion for art.
I love the idea of subscription boxes for kids, it is something they can look forward to every month. Arts and crafts in our house is a daily occurrence, we always have some master piece in the works covering the kitchen table, making these thoughtfully crafted art boxes the perfect addition to our arts and craft station. When my girls hear the mention of painting or crafts they jump up and want to start the project right away.
My girls were given the Painting with Textures box to try out, and this box was a blast. It comes with everything you need and more to create a fun masterpiece. My daughters are 1, 3, and 6 and each one had fun. We read about color theory and about traditional approaches to art, which gave the girls a good understanding about all the fun textures and colors that came in the box to explore. I had the girls make and use what they wanted, each created something unique. I worked with my youngest- because I couldn’t help but join in (makes me think they need adult boxes!). Even the clean up was fun.
Now that the rain has started to fall in Vancouver and we have a good 7 months of wet and cold weather. What better activity to do inside than art.
